Shares in the group dropped 10 per cent to £21.56 in London as investors expressed their disappointment. “[Next year] will mark another year of flat profit,” said Julian Yates, an analyst at Investec, cutting his price target from £23 to £20.David Toms, an analyst at Numis Securities, downgraded his rating to “hold” from “buy” and said Fidessa’s hint that it was exploring the fixed income market could result in additional costs of between £5m-£10m per year, based on the company’s spending to get into derivatives trading markets.
