I love FIFA 16 so much
Honestly a lot of it is just that I've been playing this way for 6 years now and have become really familiar with it.
What I do is I think one pass ahead and I imagine the play in my head (where the players are gonna go, where the space is gonna open up and so forth, comes with experience like I said).
But the easiest tip to implement is to just keep passing it, minimize your touches on the ball, if you get the ball and stop to see where there's free space or cheap fifa coins, then the opponent is gonna have the time to see it as well and defend properly.
So you need to think where to pass next, while you're passing it, if that makes sense. I'm probably making it sound harder than it really is. Short version: Just keep pressing pass and see what opens up.
Oh and don't press L1/LB (the 1-2 button) unless you feel like the run makes a purpose, otherwise you're just going to have everyone running forwards and have no one to pass to.
On CMs and CAMs passing is important, but I don't see any drastic differences between 80 passing and 99 passing, since I don't try that many killer passes in a game. Pretty much anything above 75 passing works for me.
I value dribbling a lot more since my style is focused around small passes and close control, so having a good first touch and being able to turn fast is really important to buy fifa coins. But lucky for me good dribbling go hand in hand with good passing usually.
What I don't care for too much for in CMs and CDMs is shooting stats, I rarely take long shots, but on CAMs and forwards it's obviously important.
