Porsche RS Spyder Takes a Fast Lap of the Bathurst Circuit
The Porsche RS Spyder LMP2 car never saw much use outside of the US. Although, it did win its class twice in 2008 and 2009 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It dominated the American Le Mans in 2007 by winning overall 8 times and taking class wins in every other race that season. This video shows it lapping Bathurst just a few weeks ago.
The car's lasting legacy will probably be its engine. Its 3.4-liter V8 has been enlarged to 4.6-liters and will be used in the forthcoming 918 RS but with 570hp, which is 65hp more than it ever had racing. With the electric motors, it will have 795hp.
