The trailer manages to raise several worrying concerns despite
Rockstar Games, the British GTA developers fifa 16 ultimate team coins whose work has always had cinematic aspirations, are now being enshrined on film themselves in upcoming Daniel Radcliffe-starring BBC drama The Gamechangers. Tidy, right?

The trailer manages to raise several worrying concerns despite its brevity. Like, is Dan Houser really a “British genius?” That seems half-right, at best. Rockstar’s output has been spotty: although They Make Money (a lucrative=good line thoroughly towed by the trailer), whatever punk spirit enlivened Manhunt, Vice City, and Bully has curdled into cheap misanthropy-as-satire. See what you think here:

There is some talent behind the camera: with a crew culled from shows like Rev and Black Mirror, it’s possible this won’t be as pat and pandering as it appears. Watching Bill Paxton as wrongheaded moral crusader Jack Thompson, plus the allure of whatever’s happening with Radcliffe’s facial hair, could be worth a watch as well.

Expect the story of young men making a game where you run people over while driving a stolen car (or, as the trailer has it, playing as “the first truly adaptable hero”) to be elevated into a struggle for the very soul of Britain itself, a good-v-evil narrative of moralizing pearl-clutchers versus the guys who just want to ask some questions about, like, society, man. Who are the real monsters, look in the mirror, capitalism, etc. For what it’s worth, the BBC states that the film “has not been authorised by the producers of Grand Theft Auto.” It sure does look like they come off well, though.

What are you excited for here? Can they http://www.utfifa.co/ pull this story off with any nuance? Is there a story to pull off? Find out September 15, 9pm on BBC2, or whenever it makes its way Stateside.
