The safety in Formula 1 has been a big priority over the last years, in a sports where the complete covering of the cars has been gaining more and more supporters.
Yesterday Alonso has definitely escaped death and everyone was surprised how he actually managed to get out the car on his own foot and with a pulse.
Over the times the driver cockpit of the F1 has become safer and safer, but that kind of accident had death written all over the place. But maybe it was that safety technology and investment that saved Alonso.
Safety will definitely comeback to the agenda over the next months.
